What is Think Big, Youth Science Ambassador Programme?
- The programme builds on students' Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics (STEM) skills
- Students will be equipped with STEM skill sets through science communication, design thinking & problem solving
- Students will analyse real-world, community problems & prototype solutions
- Students will showcase & share their prototypes
Students are expected to use their skills back in school or community programmes, in one or more of the following ways:
- Running of science clubs in their schools
- Organising and running science programmes for disadvantaged and underprivileged groups
- Spearheading community programme overseas to demonstrate and teach science concepts for young children
Objectives of the programme:
- Increased student's interest and knowledge in a variety of science and mathematics topics
- Enable them to communicate science concepts and to share their passion for science
- develop relevant social skills with an inclusive, welcoming approach
- Build character values such as empathy, responsibility, teamwork and leadership
Programme requirements:
- Students will need to serve at least 50 hours over a period of half a year (Jun- Dec 2020)
- Attend compulsory events and workshops
- Show satisfactory performance throughout the programme
