About the programme
On 25th September 2015, leaders from 193 states of the United Nations met to discuss the world's problems and decided on a plan to tackle these issues. They came up with 17 Sustainable Development Goals(SDGs) and strive to achieve these goals by the year 2030. The Sustainable Development Goals are an ambitious set of goals that aim to fight inequalities, eliminate extreme poverty and tackle climate change.
In today’s world, people are enjoying their current lifestyle as there are many products (food, technology such as phone, gadgets) that makes our lives better. But have we thought of where these products come from? We are relying on the Earth’s resources. If we do not change the way we live now, we may soon deplete all natural resources available on Earth. The future generations may not get to enjoy what we have today.
To bring about the realization of a sustainable society, it is important that everyone plays a part to change, acquire new habits and practices. What knowledge do we need, and what choices do we have in order to achieve these goals?
This course will help you to learn about the goals, teach them to others and take action for them.
